Our history

1998 Opening ceremony for the Körber House in Shanghai. For the first time in the history of the Körber Group, Hauni, Körber PaperLink and Körber Schleifring are united under one roof.
2002 Opening ceremony for Körber Engineering Shanghai production facilities in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone.
2003 Introduction of the first X1 rewinder into the market in July. In December, introduction of the upgraded model X2.
2004 Introduction of Concept X® during Tissue World Asia, with further machines such as X3 rewinder with Deco Embossing, XLS1 logsaw, XPH1 wrapping machine for handkerchiefs and XP1 packaging machine.
Körber Schleifring moves out of Waigaoqiao to start local production of tooling machines in Taicang.
2005 Expansion of Concept X® to paper converting machinery. Introduction of XFS1 into the market. XP2 packaging machine for double layers enters the tissue converting market.
2006 Hauni moves out of Waigaoqiao to Lujiazui area.
KES expands by adding a new plant (1400 sqm) in GaoHang, Pudong (about a 10 minute drive from WGQ).
Introduction of XPU1 punching machine for the Asian paper converting market. X8 converting line including 7 different units is introduced to the Asian market during Tissue World Asia.
In addition, the Concept X® product range is extended, including XHA1 handle applicator and XP5 packaging machine for toilet and kitchen towel rolls.
2007 KES expands further by adding another 1400 sqm in GaoHang.
“Project Dragon” – the first joint venture between Körber Engineering Shanghai, KPL Packaging and Winkler+Dünnebier: Integration of XPH1 into a new W+D handkerchief line.
